Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, in the presence of her loving family, Flora Thurston. Age 94 years. Predeceased by her parents: Abram and Annie Goobie; infant daughter Elizabeth, siblings: Beatrice, Mabel, Edna, Eliza, Eldred, Roland and Wesley; also predeceased by her first husband Thomas Norris and her second husband Philip Thurston. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories her children: Morley (Judy), Alice Whelan (Laurie), Iris Vallis (George), Ruby Marshall (Ross), Stirling (Cheryl), Christine Rumsey (Gary) and Tom (Cindy); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; the Thurston family; sister: Alice Goodyear of Corner Brook; many nieces and nephews; good friends Marg and Tom Chancey; other friends and extended family at Hillcrest. Flora's family would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses from 4 South B at the Health Science Centre. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Saturday, October 31, 2015 and Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett's Chapel Mt. Pearl on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Flora's memory to Dr. H.
