Surrounded by tremendous love from his family on October 30, 2015, Hubert House passed peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital in his 75th year. Leaving to mourn his wife of 32 years, Dianne (nee Winsor), sons and daughters, Pauline, Bill (Pam), Sandy Pike (Paul), Ray (Deanna), Geoff (Becki), Paul George (Amanda), and Perry George (Bev) and nine grandchildren, Brittany Pike, Jonathan and Rebecca George, Victoria and Ryan House, Ryan and Travis George and Isobel and Abigail House. Also, sisters Jo-Ann Baggs (Tony) and Janet Bradley (Dave). He also leaves behind a large circle of family and friends in Eastport, Happy Adventure, Glovertown, Corner Brook, St. John's and throughout Canada. Hubert is predeceased by first wife Isobel (nee Lilly, 1982), mother Blanche House (1940), parents Bill and Elaine House, and brother Jim and sister-in-law Ruby. Hubert was a member of the choir at The Good Sheppard United Church in Happy Adventure, The United Church Fellowship Choir, a member of the Terra Nova Lodge #35 NL and a regular musical guest at the Beaches Heritage Centre. At Hubert's request there will be no formal visitation but all are welcome in his home. Funeral will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Happy Adventure at 1 pm on Monday November 2nd with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd or the Cemetery Fund.
