MacLURE, Ian Barrie, age 58, of Los Angeles, Calif., passed away on June 22nd, 2015. Born in Halifax, on September 20th, 1956, Ian was a son of Maxine (Smith) MacLure and the late Barrie MacLure. Ian graduated from Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School and later went on to study at Mount Allison University and Queens University. He is survived by his mother, Maxine (Smith) MacLure of Yarmouth; brothers, Scott MacLure, Ottawa, Ont.; George MacLure, Ottawa, Ont.; Bill MacLure, Yarmouth; niece, Andrea MacLure, Ottawa, Ont.; nephews, Darren MacLure, Ottawa, Ont.; Alex MacLure, Montreal, Que.; aunt, Barbara Mecher, Montague, P.E.I. and cousins Karen (John) Abbott, John (Sandra) Mecher and Mary E. (Scott) Carlson. Ian was predeceased by his father, Barrie MacLure. Funeral services were entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A graveside service was held Saturday, September 19th at 2 p.m. in Brooklyn Cemetery with Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiating, assisted by Rev. Shawn Kehoe. Interment followed service. A reception was held in Brooklyn Seniors Hall. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
