It is with heavy hearts that the familiy of Laura Ida Evangline Goosney nee (Chynn) announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, in Corner Brook, NL, on Tuesday November 10th, 2015. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Roy Goosney (Sylvia Giles), Barbara Nichols (Greg Renouf), Dan (Susan) Goosney, Judy (John) King, JoAnn Goosney (Roger Organ), Shane (Michelle) Goosney, Jamie (Denise) Goosney, and Sandi Goosney, grandchildren: Mark (Tanya) Goosney, Michael Goosney (Brandi Ball), Denise (Paul) Gould, Dion Nichols, Trenton Nichols, Kelly Nichols, Ryan King (Jocelyn Rubia), Alex King, Jacob Goosney, MacKenzie Goosney, and Kate Goosney, great-grandchildren: Alissa Grace Goosney, Timothy Goosney, Felicity Field, Shara Wells, Kiara Nichols, Kiefer Nichols, Noah Nichols, Brayden Nichols, and Chase Nichols, Nicki Lee Parsons, and Kendra Nichols, great-great-granddaughter: Abigail Parsons, her siblings: Janet Loveless, Dulcie Marsh, Melvina (Walter) Renouf, Phyliss (Olonzo) Osmond, and George (Regina) Chynn, special nephew: Eric (Angela) Chynn, and sister-in-law: Margaret Chynn. Laura also leaves behind to mourn a large circle of friends and family who touched her life in many ways, card games, cups of tea, wonderful meals, laughter and tears. She was predeceased by her husband: Harvey in 1990, parents: George and Prudence Chynn, sisters: Gertrude Legge, Shirley Chynn, brothers: Lester Chynn, Derrick Chynn, Kenneth Chynn, Winston Chynn, and Victor Cassell and sisters-in-law: Daisy Chynn, and Annie Cassell. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main street, Deer Lake, NL, on Thursday, November 12th, 2015, from 7-9 pm, and continuing on Friday, November 13th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 11 am, at St. Paul's United Church on Spruce Street, Deer Lake, NL, with Rev. Myles Vardy officiating. In keeping with Laura's wishes cremation will follow and the burial will take place at a later date.
