Kenneth George Johnston, age 60 years, of Canso, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
Born in Cold Lake, Alta., he was a son of the late William 'Bill' and Margaret 'Peg' (Fleming) Johnston. He spent most of his life in Port Hawkesbury. He was a fisherman and loved nothing more than being on the water.
Surviving are his children, Robert 'Bob' (Audrey) Johnston; Julie (Chad) Johnston and Dana Dorton; grandchildren, Tyler, Bailey, Emma, Alexis, Brianne and Jackson; siblings, Gordon (Freda) Johnston, Heather (Donnie) Broome, Joyce Johnston and Nancy (Kevin) Stewart; nieces and nephews, Juanita, Tracy, John, Jason, Chris, Rachel, Shawna, Terry, Corey and Chloe; also his special fishing buddy, Blake Fougere. Kenneth was predeceased by parents, William 'Bill' and Margaret 'Peg' (Fleming) Johnston; brother, John 'Jack' Johnston Sr.; and infant niece, Tracey Broome.
In keeping with Kenneth’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service and burial to be held at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made in memory of Kenneth to the Palliative Care Unit, Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
