Lorna Rector
ADVOCATE HARBOUR – Lorna J. Rector, age 82, of Advocate Harbour passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Zeneith (Elderkin) Elliott.
She is survived by daughters, Virginia and her husband, Dwight MacGillivary, Advocate Harbour; Charlotte and her husband, Danny Morris, Apple River; sons, Sherrard, and his wife, Marlene, Hopewell Cape, N.B.; Anthony and his wife, Bonnie, Owen Sound, Ont.; sisters, Carol Armitage, Barrie, Ont.; Susie and her husband, Conrad Wilson, Hillsborough, N.B.; Rev. Dr. Phyllis Nesbitt, Dartmouth; Elaine and her husband, Gerald Ouelette, Moncton, N.B.; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. As well, her life-long friend, Frances Rafuse; her cousin, Rosemary Matthews, and her special grandson, Scott MacGillivary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton in 1987; sons, Jamie, Jeffrey; sisters, Zeneith, Marion; brothers, Leonard, Herbert.
Visitation took place Wednesday [November 4, 2015] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service was held on Thursday [November 5, 2015], Rev. Dr. Phyllis Nesbitt officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Advocate Fire Hall. Memorial donations to the Chignecto Manor, Advocate Harbour, where she was a resident for the previous two years.
