Donna (MacIntosh) LeBlanc, 55, of Glace Bay passed away Nov. 13, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, Donna was the daughter of the late Stephen & Martina (MacDonald) MacIntosh.
She loved being active outdoors, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Donna was a registered nurse of 34 years, loving her profession and the diversity it provided her. She was a devoted mother, who never missed any of her children’s achievements. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandson, Cooper.
She is survived by her loving partner, Glen 'Billy' Thistle; three children, Angela LeBlanc (Jason Shackelton), Aylmer, Ont.; Allyson D’Angelo (Tony) Springfield, Ont.; Stephen LeBlanc (Ashley O’Regan) Calgary Alta.; her pride & joy, grandson, Cooper D’Angelo; and stepdaughter, Jillian Thistle. She is also survived by her brother, Stephen MacIntosh (Bev); sisters, Kaye Black (Paul), Paula Sampson (Greg), Joanne MacIntosh (Wayne); sister-in-law, Cheryl MacIntosh and numerous nieces & nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her parents & brother, Gus MacIntosh.
A special thank you to the staff on 4A at the CBRH for their outstanding care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 16th from 6 – 9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home. The funeral mass is Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, followed by a reception in the foyer. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy for Donna, donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society.
