It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Valerie Irene Landry on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary (Slaney) Peckham.
Valerie enjoyed playing bingo, going shopping and was an avid walker.
Valerie is survived by her companion of 25 years Cameron Gillis; her children, Joey (Glenda), Sydney, Kevin (Cindy), Sydney, Cameron (Patricia), New Waterford, Ryan (Paige), Ontario, Johnathan (Amanda), New Waterford, Bernice (Donnie), Sydney; sisters, Maureen (Jimmy), Glace Bay, Brenda (Billy), New Waterford; brothers, Raymond (Raylene), Halifax, Gordie (Francis), New Waterford, John, Sydney and Donald, Sydney. She is also survived by special the Landry and Nicholson families, best friends Marcella Slade and Florence Fortune as well as special boy Anthony.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her ex-husband Fred Landry.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 12-3 p.m Thursday, Nov. 19 followed directly by a chapel service at 3 p.m in the funeral home chapel with Major Linda Watts officiating followed by a luncheon at the KOC Hall Plummer Avenue. Burial to be held in Union Grove Cemetery.
