It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth MacDonald on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at New Waterford Heights, New Waterford, N.S.
Born in Sydney Mines on Sept. 29, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Louise Devine.
Mary was a member of St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 138, Ashby.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Critchley, Ontario; son, Vince (Sandra), East Bridgewater, Mass.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Michael, sons, Ronald and Gary, sister, Anita Kelly, brother, Robert 'Bob'.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday from 12-2 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
