It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Irene Alexandra McDonald which occurred Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at her late residence in Seaview Manor.
She was a daughter of the late Neil A. and Irene (Farrell) McDonald.
Her employment experience included many years with the telephone company and Marshall’s Clothier. Sis spent her leisure time with many friends enjoying hours of dancing, skating and bowling.
Irene is survived by her son Paul (Shaunah), granddaughter Rebecca, several nieces and sister-in-law Norma (Calvin) MacLeod.
Besides her parents, Sis was predeceased by her husband Bill and brothers, Myles and Reg.
Visitation for Irene will take place Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home, 755 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross church with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
