SEALY, ANDREW "ANDY" S.
God called your name so gently that only you could hear. No one heard the footsteps of the angel drawing near… Softly from the shadows, there came a gentle call, you closed your eyes and went to sleep… you quietly left us all.
Andy passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 26, 2015 and is finally reuniting with the love of his life, Peggy. Born in Canobie, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Rosengren) Sealy.
Andy drove for Grey Bus Lines and was a retired Firefighter with the City of Moncton with over 25 years’ service. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Andy loved the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed harness racing, hockey and playing cards especially 200, Bridge and with his love, Peggy, Crazy Eights. His biggest passion was to care for others.
Andy will be sadly missed by his daughter, Dr. Lynn (James) Miller of Pugwash, NS; his son, Jamie (Chrissie Rostek) Sealy of Halifax; Special to him were granddaughters, Katie (Chris) Lien of Eastern Passage, NS; Sara Miller (Scott Robinson) of Florenceville, NB; grandsons Andrew, Noah and Matthew Sealy; as well as great-grandchildren Hannah and Zachary Lien; sister-in-law, Willa Sealy; several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will always be remembered by the Sealy and Rann clans.
In addition to his parents, Andy was predeceased by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Sealy (2013); sisters, Neva Fisher, Eda Martin, Velma Cooper, Jean Steeves and Opal Warman; brother, Ronald Sealy.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David Ross and Dr. Steve Masseur and Staff of the Orthopaedic Unit of The Moncton Hospital for their care and compassion during Andy’s illness. The family would like to thank Jeanie Dimock for her caring over the years, and to his friend, Norm Bourgeois, for always being there for Dad.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hildegard Dr., on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dr. Martin Kreplin officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In Andy’s memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
