Rita Trites

TRITES, RITA
1923-2015
Marie Eva Rita Trites, in her 93rd year passed away peacefully at The Moncton City Hospital Sunday, November 29th, 2015. Born on April 28th, 1923 in Moncton, N.B., Rita was the daughter of the late Albeni and Ida (LeBlanc) Bourgeois. Formerly of 11 Chandler Crescent, Centennial Place, and more recently a resident of Auberge du Soleil, Rita was married to the late Harold B.Trites.
Rita began an early and long career with CNR and Via Rail. Her husband, Harold, who also worked at CNR would reminisce with Rita about their careers and good memories in their retirement at the cottage in Edgewater, Shediac Bridge.
In Rita’s later years, she busied herself with crossword puzzles, reading her several magazine subscriptions, and analyzing political affairs on CNN which was her absolute favourite past-time.
A member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada, Rita was a devout Catholic. She believed in the power of prayer. Through her daily, silent prayer, she felt stillness and solitude which brought to her peace and happiness.
Rita is survived by her step-children: Tom Trites (Maureen) and Lynda Trites (Terry Theriault); nieces: Paulette Catelli (Franco) and Betty-Anne Bourgeois as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Rita is predeceased by two step-sons: “Joe” and “Frank”, one step-grandson, Bobby; her sister and brothers: Marguerite, Laurie, Adrien, Camille, Ola and Charles-Edouard.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Gallant for his compassion, words of wisdom and excellent care of their step-mother, Rita. To the staff of 4100, a huge THANK YOU. Auberge Du Soleil, Rita’s home for the last 2 ½ years, a multitude of gratitude to all for the caring and genuine interest shown to Rita.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday, December 2nd, from 2 to 4 only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton, on Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 at 9:30 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
