It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Edward Alex in Eskasoni on Dec. 1, 2015 at the age of 54.
John was a self-employed woodsman, a fisherman and enjoyed being an ongoing 'foreman'. His greatest passion and was well known for collecting bottles throughout beautiful Eskasoni. He loved bragging about his favourite hockey team — Montreal Canadiens with family and friends. John will best be remembered asking “Wen Boss”.
He is survived by parents, Cammillius and Annie Jane (Francis) Alex; brothers, Douglas (Jackie) George, Rodney (Joanne), Cammillus Jr. ‘Joe Goss’, Peter Marshall Jr. (Shelley); sisters, Connie (Elton), Darlene (Simon)Pamela, Madeline, and Shannon; his special uncle, Howard Poulette; as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and his many friends who he loved to visit.
John was predeceased by his grandparents, Noel and Helen Francis and Isaac and Ester Alex and his special nanny mom Elizabeth Poulette and several, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will begin after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 237 Shore Rd,. Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7 at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni, Rev. Martin MacDougall will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
He will be missed by all that loved him!
