It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Kathy MacCormack, age 71, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Halifax on Jan. 5, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dois (Rudolph) Bennett.
Kathy's greatest joy was her grandchildren and she looked forward to hearing about everything that went on in their day. She was a mother who put everyone's needs before her own and she truly enjoyed her daily drives around "town" with her husband, Dan.
Kathy survived by her husband, Daniel; her children, Brian (Sherri), Reserve Mines and Maureen (Jamie MacIntyre), Sydney. Also surviving are the true lights of her life her five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jennifer, Mary, Bennett and Milania. Her brothers, Brian (Shirley) Bennett, Henry (Colleen) Bennett; her sister, Marilyn Bennett, all of Coxheath; sisters-in-law, Elaine (George) Schmidt, Coleen MacNeil, Delores (Frank) Starzomski, Heather (Steve) Fraser, Lisa Raitt and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Colin MacCormack, Vince MacNeil; nephew, Christopher Bennett and niece, Elizabeth Bennett.
Mom, we will truly miss your kind heart, warm smile and your dedication to your family.
Burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery. A memorial service for Kathy will be announced at a later date.
