vanCampen, Joan Marie – age 74, Lower Onslow, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 2, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Stewiacke, she was the daughter of the late Ken and Greta (Whidden) Andrews. Joan loved her work with the seniors at Hillcrest Manor. She also enjoyed Bingo, watching movies and being with her cats. She is survived by her husband, Cornelis “Kees”; daughter, Laura (Ronnie George) Wright; sons, Ricky Wright, Lonnie (Christine) Wright, Derek Wright, Dana (Jennifer) Wright; stepchildren, Chris (Mar Richards) vanCampen, George vanCampen, Matilda (John) Umlah; sisters, Anne (Charles) Jewers, Christine (Wayne) Johnson; brother, Glenn (Shirley) Christensen; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Jack Roode, Everett Dickie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Kenny; sisters, Bea, Shirley, Barb and Joyce; brothers, Wayne, Max; stepfather, John Christensen. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, December 7 in Clarke Cemetery, Lower Onslow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarke Cemetery, Lower Onslow.
