EASTWOOD, MARION
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marion (Mitchell) Eastwood which occurred at Kingsway Care Center on Sunday, December 6th, 2015. Born 1920, in Vancouver, BC, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Lee) Mitchell.
Marion, eldest of 11 children, graduated from Jamaica High School in Flushing, NY. She was a loving and caring mother of seven children who took pride in being a homemaker. Marion was our Angel on Earth whose house was always open to family, friends or anyone in need.
Marion is survived by her daughters Carol van der Borch (Marcel) of Kingston, Donna Miller (Alex) of Quispamsis, Karen Fennell (Terry) of Saint John, Gail Eastwood of Quispamsis, Juana Thorne (Don) of Moncton, Brenda Cobbett (Richard) of Quispamsis; son K. Eric Eastwood (Kathy) of Saint John; brothers William “Bill” Mitchell (Shirley) of Cape Spencer, Robert “Bob” Mitchell (Geraldine) of Saint John, Gordon “Bud” Mitchell (Mary) of Saint John; sisters Edna Brewer (Jack) of Saint John, Dorothy Boddington (Fred) of Saint John, Patricia Mitchell of Saint John; grandchildren Michele van der Borch, Sondra Clegg, Todd Miller (Julie), Cathy Ryan (Mark), Chris Fennell, Kelly James, Victoria Thorne (Floyd Otto), Erin O’Kane (Rick), Jonathan Cobbett, Joshua Cobbett (Emily), Karl Eastwood, Heather Eastwood; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Karl Marx Eastwood, siblings Jean Barnett (Russell), Lena Reid (Bill), Betty Parks (Ray) and Agnes Mitchell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, December 8th from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, December 9th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
