MARTHA WITT

Martha Witt (nee Beutler) passed away December 3, 2015 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul and Teofil (Teddy), her son Jern Witt, mother Elza (nee Lange) and father William and sister Emelia McLean. Martha is survived by her husband Otto Witt; daughters Bonita Witt, twins Ivy (Brian) Lukaniuk and Inez (David) Stone; grandchildren Rachel Stone, Christopher and Catherine Lukaniuk; sisters Emma Baynes, Edith Kempin, Freda (Harold) Scherle and Bertha (Morley) Krause. Born in a small town near Warsaw Poland, Martha came with her family to Canada when she was a young child. She grew up in the area of Wapella, SK helping her parents on the various farms where they lived. Always a hard worker, Martha was an accomplished seamstress, carpenter, waitress, cook and horticulturist. She especially loved her house plants, garden and chickens. Martha was generous, kind and loving and will be sorely missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneers Lodge especially Prairie View Wing as well as Dr. Thorpe and Dr. Stushnoff for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday December 9, 2015 at 1:30 pm at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 106 Athabasca St E., Moose Jaw. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St N., Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 1L3 or to a charity of one`s choice.
