MARIE FARLEY ARCHER (nee Kelley)

MARIE FARLEY ARCHER (nee Kelley)

With great sadness we announce the passing of Marie Farley Archer (nee Kelley) on December 1, 2015, after a short illness.
People may know Farley from her involvement in various faith and choral activities in the Sechelt community over the past 25 years. Prior to arriving on the Sunshine Coast, Farley made significant community contributions in Kingston, Ontario (four years), Kitimat, BC (18 years) and British Guiana (four years). Farley grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Farley’s greatest joy came from the relationships she formed and the contributions she made to various choral societies, most recently the Suncoast Phoenix Community Choir.
Farley’s last days were spent at home with her loving husband Tony; sister Ellen; six children, Kathleen, Susan, Stella, Tom, Bill and John; six grandchildren, Patrick, Zachariah, Cole, Allison, Kyler and Autumn; son-in-laws Tarang and Steve; daughter-in-law Jennifer; friends, neighbours and extended family members Paul Jr., Ellen and Sandra. Farley is also survived by sisters Suzanne and Ellen, brother-in-law Paul, sister-in-law Sally, nieces and nephews Paul Jr., Ellen, Marie, Kelley, Kevin, Dan, Sandra and Mary Ellen.
Farley dedicated her life to raising her family, but was immensely proud of her early work in forest / insect research and later a passion for teaching English as a second language.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Simon Reznick and the rest of the hospital palliative and healthcare team for their care and compassion during Farley’s last days.
