Eileen Alison

ALISON, EILEEN
With family at her side, Mary “Eileen” Alison passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the age of 91 after a period of failing health. Born August 23, 1924 in Ireland, Eileen was the daughter of the late Frances and Margaret Hughes and was the 3rd child of 11 in her family.
Eileen married her husband, James Alison on February 3, 1954 in Scotland. Together they traveled to Canada where they settled in Fredericton, NB and had two children, Evelyn and Richard. Eileen enjoyed helping others and practised as a nurse for some time before becoming a ward clerk at Victoria Public Hospital in Fredericton. Later on in her career she transferred to Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital where she was a communications clerk for 13 years. Eileen was an avid storyteller and most enjoyed sharing her childhood experiences with anyone who would lend a listening ear. She was a woman full of faith and her family meant the world to her. She touched the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many others along her journey. She will be remembered by many for her bright smile and twinkling eyes.
