BREWER, Alice Marie- age 78 of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 5, 2015. Born in Yarmouth on April 9, 1937 she was a daughter to the late William and Freda (Brown) Lawrence. Alice was a spiritual person, loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was known to be kind and generous and enjoyed the company of others. In her early years she was a teacher before meeting her husband Kenneth after which she decided to stay home to raise her family. In her spare time Alice enjoyed baking, especially bread, watching old movies and various hobbies.
She is survived by her daughters, Penny and Karen Brewer, both of Yarmouth; brothers, Colin (Bobbi) Lawrence; Calvin (Elizabeth) Lawrence; sisters, Georgia Nicholas; Rose Lawrence; Louise (Pat) Harding; daughter-in-law Joan (Poole) Brewer; grandchildren, Serene Franklyn, Keenan and Janelle Brewer. Besides her parents Alice was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; son, Steve Brewer; brother, William Lawrence Jr. and grandson, Jalen Brewer.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and there was no funeral or visitation by her request. Burial will be in the spring of 2016 in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund, or a charity of your choice.
