Passed peacefully away after a long, courageous battle with cancer, at Lion's Manor Nursing home on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, Florence M. Leonard-Walsh of Freshwater, NL, age 72 years. Predeceased by husbands: John Leonard (1982) and Leo Walsh (2007); parents: Edward and Bridget Bruce of Long Harbour, NL; brothers: Dan, Fred, Albert; sister: Elizabeth (Beth) Bartlett; step-son: Tom Walsh. Leaving to mourn her children: Steve (Sharon) Leonard, Stephanie Leonard, and Shawna (Charlie) Kelly; three beautiful grandchildren: Jake, Emma and Brady; her step-children: Elizabeth (Dave) Wall, Leo (Linda) Walsh, Sheila (Peter) Bennett, Audrey (Bert Fricker) Walsh, John (Martina) Walsh; 15 step-grandchildren: Joshua, Alexandria, Victoria, Zachariah, Matthew, Louis, Becky, James, Joanie, Anna, Clare, Christopher, James, Brent, Heather; one step great-granddaughter Sophie; her brothers: Ray (Shirley) Bruce, Clarence (Theresa) Bruce, Ed (Carmelita) Bruce, Tom (Jean) Bruce; her sisters: Carmella Kelly, Rita (Jim) Garner and June (Dan) Foley; a special sister-in-law Winnie Leonard, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home in Placentia with visitation 2-9 pm Saturday, December 12 and 2-9 pm on Sunday, December 13. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11 am on Monday, December 14 at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia, with interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Cemetery, South East, Placentia. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the Placentia Area Food Bank Association in her memory. Mom loved helping people.
