It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Eileen Burke, Bennett Street, Sydney, on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Canso on Aug. 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William and Anne (Haynes) Napman.
Pat is survived by daughters, Patricia Jones and Diane (Bernie) MacDonald, Sydney; sons, Brian (Linda), Port Hawkesbury and Blair (Patsy), Fredericton; grandchildren, Shauna, Greg, Nancy, Amy, Daryl and Erin; 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Lexina MacDonald, Sydney and Norma Binns, Saint John, N.B.; brother, Armand 'Sonny' (Hilda), London, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; sisters, Dorothy Matheson, Mae Campbell and Bernice 'Bunny' Wambolt; son-in-law, Jim Jones.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Theresa’s Church on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Dennis Lamey officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the An Cala, Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
