It is with the greatest sadness that we, the family of Cheryl 'Okie' Franklyn MacAdam, regret to announce her passing on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on May 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John J. and H. Pauline (nee Sheppard) MacPherson.
Okie raised her family in Sydney while working a the Royal Bank and in later years worked as a manager at McDonald's Restaurant in Sydney River.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Cheryl; son, Scott (Elaine) and grandchildren, Morgan, Ian and Amy; son, Shaun (Nicole) and grandchildren, Kenzie, Cory and Kara, and son, Shane (Maureen) and grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, Sidney and Chase.
She is also survived by her sister, Sarah 'Bunnie' Baillieul and two brothers, Danny (Charlene) and Frankie (Patricia) McPherson. She will also be missed by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and her cat, Elsa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Chants Funeral Home, with a celebration of life ceremony to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of choice.
