KANE, GERALD FRANCIS –
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gerald Francis Kane which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 14th, 2015. Born 1945, in Charlottetown, PEI, he was the son of the late Jack and Alice (Purcell) Kane. Gerry worked for Irving Paper before retiring in the early 2000`s. Gerry came to Saint John from Charlottetown in 1964 to play hockey for the Saint John Mooseheads and later the Moosehead Old Timers.
Gerry is survived by his sons John (Shelley Freeze) of Biddeford, ME, Gerry of Grandbay-Westfield and their mother Heather Kane of Quispamsis; brother John ``Jack`` (Marilyn) of Charlottetown, PEI; sister Aileen Bechard (Bob) of Western Canada; grandchildren Courtney Kane, Conlon Kane, and Cordelia Kane; nieces Mary Lynn (Greg Anthony), Lorie Kane, Allyson Kane, Jacilyn Kane, Melissa Kuehner (Steve); nephews Colin Bechard (Myvanwy), Ryan Bechard (Kim); many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his sister Barbara Barrett MacDonald.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, December 16th from 2 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 17th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
