It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Helen Bonner, age 84, on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines on July 31, 1931, Helen was a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Pennycook) Reid. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Cecil Bonner; son-in-law, Anthony Rudnicki; grandsons, William and Christopher Rudnicki. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Sylvia), Robin (Katherine) and Scott (Jennifer); daughter, Nancy; grandchildren, Becky, Jenny, Jesse and Mike; six great-grandchildren.
Helen traveled all over with Cecil, who was in the army, until they retired back home to Sydney Mines. She enjoyed every minute and continued to keep in touch with the many friends they made.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank Dr. Wawer and the staff at the Northside General Hospital for taking such good care of mom. Also, a big thank you to her niece, Frances Boyd for always being there for her, as well as driving Nancy to the hospital every day and staying with her. Thank you to special friends, Paula, Donnie and Ashlee Halloran.
Memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Kidney Foundation.
