We regret to announce the passing of Donald Norman 'Moose' Morrison, of Parkwood Drive, Sydney River, on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born August 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Gordon and Nellie (MacLean) Morrison.
Don was the owner of Mor-son Distributors. In his younger years, he played hockey for various hockey teams including, the Glace Bay Miners, North Sydney Franklins, Brookfield Elks and the Sydney Jr. Millionaires, as well, he played senior hockey in Truro and Newfoundland. Don was a member of the Philae Shriners, the Masonic Lodge #84, Sydney and the Sydney Suburban West Kinsmen, where he also served as president.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Donna Morrison, Sydney River and son, Barry (Maria), Howie Center; grandchildren, Krystina and Candice.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Marie 'Queenie' (Stevens).
At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be held at a later date.
