Laura Margaret Taylor passed away December 14, 2015 at 94 years of age. She was born December 8, 1921, the eldest child of Reuben and Verna (Shepley) Barber. Laura grew up 6 miles southwest of Boharm on the family farm. She attended McRoberts School, then took grade 9 and 10 through correspondence courses, finishing up at Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw. Laura was a member of the Boharm United Church transferring her membership to St. Andrew’s United Church upon moving to Moose Jaw. Laura worked several jobs helping in homes where needed, at the French Cleaners serving at the front counter, then at a ready to wear ladies store. She married Bill Taylor in January 1944 making their home on Chestnut Avenue for 58 years, where they raised five children. Bill and Laura moved to the Bentley in September 2002 where Laura lived for 13 years, enjoying every moment there. She was involved in the UCW at St. Andrew’s where she was president for many years. She served on the Sask. Presbytery and at the Sask. Conference several times. Laura was a woman of strong faith and a wonderful mother and homemaker. Laura is predeceased by her parents; husband Bill; sister Hazel and brother Harold. She is survived by her children Bill (Val), Connie (Ken), Fay (Garth), Barry (Joyce), and Wendy (Gary); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Laura’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 3:00PM. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Andrew’s United Church, Telemiracle, 2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, S7L 6A8 or a charity of choice.
