McLELLAN, Joyce Lorraine – 68, Truro Heights, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday morning, December 16, 2015, at home. Born in Cornwall, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Jeannette (Wylie) Chester. Joyce spent her younger years in Toronto before moving to Nova Scotia. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom, crafts, quilting, cake decorating, doing her Avon route and bowling with the ladies Tuesday morning league. She was secretary treasurer of J.P. McLellan Transport Ltd. and Truro Heights Cemetery. Above all else, she was devoted to her family and church, Truro Heights United Baptist Church, where she served on nearly every committee except in the church choir. She will be sadly missed by her K-9 companion, Digger. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, J. Paul McLellan; sons, Richard McLellan, Pugwash; Jason (Donna) McLellan, Debert; granddaughters, Destiny and Trinity McLellan, Debert; sister, Isobel Woods, Whitby, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Isobel Chester, Lions Bay, British Columbia; Florence Chester, Ottawa; Lillian Chester, Truro; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Inez McLellan, Truro. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald, James, David. Special thanks are extended to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society and VON for their care and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Joyce’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Truro Heights United Baptist Church, 343 Truro Heights Road, Reverend Greg Porter and Reverend Connie Stewart officiating.
