It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Edith Jane Edwards, 84, of Sydney on Dec. 16, 2015.
Born May 27, 1931 in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Emma (Fifield) and Ken Mullins. Edith was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army where she taught Sunday school, Brownies, and was a member of the home league. She also worked in the Salvation Army Thrift Store for many years. Edith is survived by her sons, Bob (Brenda), Brian (Debbie); daughters, Edie, Susan (Joe), all of Sydney. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Elmer), B.C.; Mabel, Bedford & Hattie, U.S.A.; sisters-in-law, Annie Fifield, Grace Hiller, Sydney.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, George; daughter, Cheryl; grandson, Andrew; as well as brothers, Gordon & Cecil.
A celebration of Edith’s life will take place 3 p.m. Sunday in the Salvation Army Community Church, Inglis Street. The family will be receiving guests at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Community Church. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of 4C for their care and compassion.
