It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Kirkland on Saturday, December 19th, 2015 at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre. An avid salmon fisherman, wildlife observer and expert raisin tea bun maker of the Gander River at 4th Pond Bar; this family loving adventurer opened her heart and home to everyone she met. This life was full of family and, of course, friends. Mourning her loss is husband George and her two sons George Jr. and John. Also mourning today is George Jr.'s wife Kelly and their two sons George and Samy. As well, John's wife Michelle and their two sons David and Colin. Predeceased by her eldest sister Patricia, parents Jack and Catherine Farrell, she leaves two brothers John (Erzsi) and Ed (Val) and two sisters Catherine and Eileen (Reg) with many loved nieces, nephews and extended family. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, your heartfelt feelings, humorous stories and past adventures can be shared starting on Sunday, December 20th, from 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Rd. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A reception to follow.
