SOMERS, JOY MARY
It is with great sadness that the family of Joy Mary Somers announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 21, 2015. She was born on September 24, 1928 to the late Harold and Myrtle (Downey) Somers.
Joy was a lifelong resident of Saint John and most recently resided at McKellar’s Special Care Home in Nauwigewauk. Joy will be remembered by her family and friends for her innate musical talents, her warm countenance and her spontaneous smile.
Joy will be missed by her sister Faye M. Somers along with several cousins and members of her extended family.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23 from 2 PM to 6 PM and on Thursday, December 24 from 12 PM to 1:45 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 24 at 2 PM from Brenan’s Chapel; interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.
