Michael Haywood
HAYWOOD, MICHAEL STEPHEN
1949 - 2015
Michael Haywood of Rexton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born in Hartland, he was the son of the late Stephen and Elinor (Page) Haywood.
Michael loved music whether it was playing the piano on Sunday mornings at home or playing songs on his guitar at parties and family gatherings. He also loved nature and was happiest when enjoying the outdoors with his family. He and his wife, Linda, loved cutting paths through the woods on their property and family gatherings around the pool. He was an avid canoeist and hiker and instilled his love of nature in all his children and grandchildren. Michael was fortunate enough to fall in love and marry Linda, his wife and best friend. Their 51 years together was a true partnership built on trust and profound mutual respect. Michael had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. He and Linda traveled to countries such as Japan, Fiji Portugal, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Spain and most recently France, Belgium and Switzerland. Michael was known for his positive attitude and welcoming presence. Many people will remember his ability to give valuable advice and for always being there when you needed him. He was a voice of reason and confidence when things seemed to be the worst. Michael was always able to see the good in people when others could not. He was a mentor to many friends and colleagues and was well-respected for his honesty and integrity within the business community. He had a true entrepreneurial spirit and saw life as an ongoing learning opportunity. He successfully ran a family-owned Honda dealership for 15 years, was co-founder of TSi Auto Solutions, an automotive software company and a member of Genesis Group of Business Roundtable for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and the Haywood family is so blessed and fortunate to have had such a good man to look up to for so many years. We will love you and miss you forever.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Linda (Orser); children, Jason (Christina Rossiter) Julie (Todd Fleischhauer), Charlotte (David) Frise, Ellen (Jamie Steeves) Phillips; grandchildren, Hannah Haywood, Katherine Frise, Elle BeLong, Annie Frise, William and Scarlett Phillips and Eliza-Jane Haywood; and sister, Randi (Jay) Brown.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Crozier, Dr. Renfrew and the nursing staff of The Moncton Hospital for the care they provided to Michael while he was there.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview, (869-2007) on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 1 to 4 pm. A private family service will take place at a later date.
