It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Martha L McLean.
Martha a longtime resident of 3 MacDonald's Lane passed away on Dec. 26, 2015, at the age of 80.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Clement and Elizabeth (Tuttle) Verge.
Martha is survived by her daughter Jonna (Les) Gillis; sons, David (Helen), Bill (Colleen), Sandy (Lisa) and Vernon (Eileen). Also left to morn is her sister Carmel Nega; brothers, Albert Verge, Ontario, David Verge, Vancouver and aunt Minnie Parsons in Newfoundland; grandchildre, Matt, Ronnie, Danny, Todd, Jamie, SandieLee, Dr. ChynnaRae, Krayton, Klye, Trevor and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Cavan, Bryson, baby Emily, Ashton, Mylee, Anna, Max, Marissa, Brandon, baby Lilah, and Hudson.
Martha was predeceased by her sister Effie Marshall, youngest brother Harris Verge and former husband Bill McLean.
At this time we would like to thank the people that cared for our mother on a daily basis Tina Curry (her life would never have been the same without you) Theresa, Fred, David and John. The New Waterford Homemakers and Valerie has been her lifeline for years.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Warden United Church, New Aberdeen Glace Bay. A reception will follow.
