ROGERS, ELLEN JEAN
Ellen J. Rogers, 63, of Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter Olive F. (McDuff) (Rogers) Mercer of Moncton and the late Donald Rogers.
Ellen was retired from Co-Op Insurance with over 35 years’ service. She was a member of Sunny Brae Baptist Church, a choir member and served her church in various other capacities in past years. She enjoyed walking and travelled extensively throughout North America and overseas. An avid reader, she enjoyed flower gardening, music, socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family.
In addition to her mother, Olive, Ellen will be sadly missed by her sister, Donna Ricker (Bev) of Indian Mountain; brother, Emery Rogers (Marilyn) of Codys, NB; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her father, Donald Rogers (1995) and her step-father, Arnold Mercer (2008).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Ellen’s life will be held at Sunny Brae Baptist Church, 85 Elmwood Drive, on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Colin Cook officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
