O'CONNOR, ROBERT "BOB" J.
With sad hearts the family of Robert “Bob” O’Connor announces his passing at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2015. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late Anne Marie O’Connor.
Bob was a firefighter with the Moncton Fire Department for 38 years retiring as a Captain. Bob and Leona owned and operated Bob’s Car Wash on Main St. for 25 years and operated rental cabins in Caissie Cape.
Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Leona (Caissie) O’Connor; his children, Kristina O’Connor-Selkirk (Chris) of Moncton, and Jason O’Connor (Tammy) of Shediac Cape. His much loved grandson, Liam O’Connor; step-grandchildren, Devon and Braden Selkirk; step-great-granddaughter, Storm Selkirk. Survived by brother, Walter O’Connor (Jennie) and sister-in-law, Violet O’Connor
In addition to his mother, Bob was predeceased by his brother Joseph O’Connor as well as sisters, Mildred Jordan (Colin), Marjorie Doyle (Bill), Joan MacAulay (Fred), Dorothy LeBlanc (Clarence) and Bernice Bastarache.
A Service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday January 4, 2016 at 1:30 pm with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe in the spring.
In Bob’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
