Grande-Digue, NB – Doris Bastarache, 69, passed away suddenly at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 1, 2016.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Mélina (Roy) Després.
Doris was very devoted in everything she was involved in. She worked for Alpha Electric during several years and after for Hub Dental Lab. At the time of her retirement, Doris was involved in various committees in Grande-Digue, such as the Female Institute, Golden Age Club, the Carnival committee, Community supper and many more. New passions in which she developed these last years were golfing and bowling.
Doris will be sadly missed by her daughter, Ginette Richard (Daniel) of Grande-Digue; her two grandchildren, Julien and Jasmine; her three brothers-in-law, Robert Bastarache, Gérard Bastarache (Jeannita) both of Cocagne and Aubrey LeBlanc (late Simonne) of Bouctouche; her sister-in-law, Catherine Bastarache (late Roger) of Bouctouche; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Normand (Smokey) Bastarache; her sister-in-law, Simonne and her two brothers-in-law, Roger and Father Yvon Bastarache.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be held at the La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11 am. Reception will follow at Notre-Centre in Grande-Digue.
Donations to the Female Institute, the Golden Age Club of Grande-Digue, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
