Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2016 at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Bridget "Bride" Martin, long-time resident of Coronation Street, aged 101 years was the last surviving child of James and Mary Butler of Path End, St. Mary's. She was predeceased by her husbands, Jack Cooper and Edward Martin; sons Gerald and Edward Martin; son-in-law Walter Harvey; brothers Joseph and Patrick; sisters Mag, May, Eliza, Stella and Frances and step-children Pat, Betty and Chris. Bride leaves to mourn and to celebrate her life, her sons, Jim Cooper (Bet) and John Martin (Joan); daughters, Joan Harvey (Walter deceased), Anna Fitzpatrick (Bren), Patricia Martin, Betty Smith (Paul) and step-daughter Mary Fleming (Ontario); her grandchildren, John Harvey (Dolores), Sandra Walsh (Vince), Kim Cooper (Melony), Dean Cooper (Joanne), Sheldon Cooper (Tina), Warren Martin (Kathy), Daryl Martin (Sarah), Tracey Hanlon (Chris), Penny Murphy (David), Matthew (mother: Laura) Martin (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Daniel, Adam (Emily), Cody (Megan), Amanda (Josh), Alyssa (Matthew), Jack, James, Benjamin, Logan, Allie, Theo, Caleb and Ronan and great-great-grandchildren, Evan and Olivia. Bride will also be missed by the Butler family, nieces, nephews, extended family (Toronto) and friends, as well as the staff and residents of 1NS (Marion, Rita and Ada) and special friend and roommate Irene O'Keefe of St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11am from St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Street. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Bride's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Building Fund or St. Patrick's Mercy Home.
