BLADON, ELEANOR D.
1920 - 2016
Miramichi - Eleanor Dorothy Bladon, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and widow of George Bladon and Andrew Mather, passed away at her residence on Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016, at the age of 95. Born in Chatham, on January 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late
Wilmot and Eleanor (West) Trevors.
She was a homemaker; a retired employee of the N.B. Dept. of Agriculture; a member of St. Pauls Anglican Church, Miramichi; a member of St. Pauls A.C.W.; a former member of the School Board Trustees; a founding member of the #254 Wing R.C.A.F.A.
She was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in England with the R.C.A.F. and was a receiptant of the British Empire Medal.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Black (Tom), of Oak Point and Susan Mather (Raymond), of Douglasfield; one son, Scott Mather (Paula Marie), of Riverview; one step daughter, Fiona Bladon, of Ottawa; two step sons, Ian Bladon, of British Columbia and Michael Bladon (Elaine), of Guelph, Ont.; two sisters, Catherine Matchett and Bettina Whalen, of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Shawn, Annie; three great-grandchildren, Cash, Page and Ryan.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Andrew Mather and her second husband, George Bladon; six brothers, Dudley, Alfred, George, Boyd, Leonard, Ronald and Donald Trevors; one half-sister, Queenie.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Pauls Anglican Church, on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Gordon Thompson. Interment will be in the church cemetery, later in the spring. Please note, members of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday evening, at 7:30 pm for a Veterans’ Service.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, would be appreciated by the family.
