Passed away on Jan. 4, 2016 at Veteran's Pavilion, St. John's, NL, in his 91st year.
Louis was born at Morell, P.E.I. on April 8, 1925.
Predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline (Rochette) in 1971, siblings Jerome, Martin, John, Eileen and second wife Belle (Smyth). Left to mourn are children, Louis Jr. (Sharon), Eamonn (Gail), Stephen, Cathy and Eileen (Torsten) Schroeder, nine grandchildren; siblings, Francis III (Jr.) (Rosella), Lea Hogan and Marie Thompson (John).
Louie, a decorated WWII veteran, was recently awarded the rank of "Knight of the French Legion of Honour" for his contribution to the liberation of France.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Mary Queen of Peace RC Church on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
