Passed peacefully away on January 9, 2016, Susan Reba Bishop (nee Parsons) at the much too young age of 58. Predeceased by her parents, Captain Peter and Olive Parsons, Susan leaves to mourn her husband of 34 years, Robert Bishop, sisters Brenda Newton (Mike), Jean Babstock and Heidi Janes (Dick), sister in law Marilyn Oliver(Shawn), nephews Ian Newton, Steven Babstock, Peter Babstock, Matthew Janes and Simon Babineau, one niece Danielle Chervin and their families as well as a wide circle of friends from all her varied activities. Susan loved gardens and gardening, flowers and plants of all descriptions. She devoted many volunteer hours with good friends at the MUN Botanical Garden. Her artistic side found expression for many years through flower arranging with her friends and fellow members of the Floral Art/Design Group of the Newfoundland Horticultural Society. Special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Carmel Collins and to all the wonderful staff at the Palliative Care unit at the L. A. Miller Centre. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, St. John's on Monday, January 11th and Tuesday, January 12th from 2 until 5 pm and 7 until 9 pm. Funeral service to be held at St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue on Wednesday, January 13th, 2016 at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Friends of the MUN Botanical Garden or to a charity of your choice.
