It is with heavy hearts and great memories that we announce the passing of our mother, Marjorie Grabher on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016.
Born in Sydney on June 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel (Simmons) Fraser.
Mom and dad built their home in South Bar, where they raised their family. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home and waiting for us all to arrive, wherever they were, on Sundays.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Lorne (Liz) and children, Tracey and Troy; Linda and her children, John (Robin), Corey (Katrina) and Sandra; Faye (Brian) Delaney and their children, Shelley (Peter), Jana (Paul) and Ashley (Ben); Dale (Dan) Young and their children, Kate (Mike) and Chris (Jana). Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Laurel, Liam, Madison, Ema, McKenzie, Kaitlyn, Jack, Abbey, Sam, Layne and Maisie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Grabher and son-in-law, Doug MacArthur. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Marjorie was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Dingwall, Annie Allen and brothers, Edward, Henry, Lloyd and Melvin 'Babe'.
Thank you to the staff of the Creative Care Unit at the Cove Guest Home, as well as Rev. Thomas Whent. Also, a special thank you to those who sat with mom around the clock during her final days.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday 2:30 p.m., with Martha MacDonald, DLM officiating and her grandchildren and their spouses acting as honorary pallbearers. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
