CAVERHILL, CARL GARFIELD
Carl G. Caverhill of Longs Creek, NB, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on January 10, 2016 at Shannex Thomas Hall. Carl was born at Longs Creek, NB in 1925, son of the late Garfield and Mary (Howard) Caverhill.
Carl lived a long, full life. Being a woodsman at heart, Carl loved the out of doors and working in his woodlot. He loved to hunt, play cards and spend time with his family. He loved spending summers at his cottage on Lake George and escaping the cold, to spend winters in Florida. Carl was employed with the DOT as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Budaker (Michael), Longs Creek, NB, Debbie Ekins (Dale), Fredericton, NB and Carla Caverhill (Michael), Halifax, NS; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda), Kristi (Robert), Mairi, Mac, Madeleine, Vivian, Sean and Scott; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Gabrielle, Kaleb and Nathan; a sister, Doris Moore, Fredericton, NB; two brothers-in-law, Edward Comeau, Tremblay Settlement, NB and Donald Comeau, Montreal, QC; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dora (Comeau) Caverhill in 2000; two sisters, Eveline Dunlay and Ada McLaughlin and by his partner, Fran Lutes in December, 2015.
Although there will be no funeral service, a time of visitation will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6 to 9 pm. Interment will be held later at the Prince William Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Carl, the family has suggested the Prince William Cemetery, Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
