GREEN, ERIC HOWARD
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric Howard Green on January 16, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Eric was born in Birmingham, England to the late William and Lilly (Rhodes) Green in August of 1926, and was the loving and devoted husband of Jean (Garrett) Cox Green.
Eric was a very devoted and loving family man. He loyally served in World War II as a Guardsman from 1944-1948. Prior to his retirement he worked as a Bus Driver and a Truck Driver. He came to Canada in 1998 to marry his first love. A great fan of playing darts and was known for his love of a good book, puzzles and crosswords. Eric was a true gentlemen who enjoyed spending time with his sweet heart Jean. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving and devoted wife Jean, he is survived by his daughter Rosaline Mason of Kidderminster, England, two sons; Eric Green (Michelle) of Tucson, AZ and Phillip Green of England, as well as step daughters; Sandra Jeffers of Saint John, Carolyn Hunter (Phillip) of Nerepis, Christine Flecknell, Edie Guitard (Norman) and Judy Cannon (Eric) all of Saint John; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
Eric was predeceased by his parents, son Alan Green, as well as sons-in-law John Mason and Joe Flecknell; grandson Christopher Flecknell; former wives Irene and Rose; three brothers and a sister.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22nd from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Eric’s life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Private interment at a later date.
Donations in Eric’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Atlantic Division or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
