Madonna Marie Brown

Lieu de naissance : Sydney Mines
Date de naissance : 17 avril 1943

Date de décès : 20 janvier 2016

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Madonna Marie Brown, after a courageous battle with cancer. Madonna passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, with her family by her side.
Born in Sydney Mines on April 17, 1943, Madonna was the daughter of the late Jack and Viola (Jessome) McGean.
She worked for many years at the fish plants, where she met many wonderful friends who will fondly remember her kind personality.
Madonna’s happiest times were spent at the cottage in George’s River, where she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, swimming, boating, fishing, campfires and playing cards. Friends and family knew they were welcome at the cottage, whether it was for an hour, a day, or an entire weekend, her door was always open. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Madonna is survived by her sons, Cordell (Lana), Georges River, and Rick (Karen), Sydney Mines; daughters, Tonya (Eddie LeMoine), Alberta and Nadine, North Sydney. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Mitchell and Nicola Brown (Bryce Chacon), Kyle Brown (Ashley Penny) and Cory Brown, Sasha LeMoine (Rob Barron) and Jayson LeMoine; brothers, Eddie (Lillian), Bob (Jean) and Melvin; sisters-in-law, Cynthia and Jeanie; brother-in-law, Henry Dormiedy and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Madonna was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Arthur; brothers, Lawrence (Eleanor), Doug and Gordon; sisters, Jean (Jim Merritt), Shirley (Jerome Devoe), Mary Dormiedy and sister-in-law, Eunice.
Thank you to Dr. Andrew Wawer and the wonderful staff of the Northside General Hospital for the care and compassion shown to our family during this difficult time.
There will be no visitation. The funeral mass will take place Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Harbour View Hospital Foundation.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
“Always missed and never forgotten,
She will be in our hearts forever."
