It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin Flynn announces his passing on January 20, 2016, at the age of 63 after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at his home in St. Albert, AB with his wife by his side. He has gone to be with the One whom he trusted as his Lord and Saviour at the age of 17. Melvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Ruth (nee Mathews); daughter Karen (Rick); son Jonathan (Suzanne) Flynn; special granddaughters Hailey and Faith; mother Charlotte Flynn (nee Buckle); sister Shirley (Michael) Normore; brothers: Doug (Melita), David (Miriam), Ivan (Tania), and Gideon (Kim); brothers-in-law John (Carmelita) Mathews and Ken (Debbie) Mathews; and sisters-in-law Marie Mathews, Betty Anne (Sam) Fequet, and Carol (Ian) O'Brien; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Edward John Flynn, and his parents-in-laws, Peter and Blanche Mathews. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook, on Monday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at SonRise Ministries, 29 Wellington Street, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 2pm with internment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
