Cayley Fox

Cayley Fox

FOX, CAYLEY ELIZABETH
Age 21 of Porters Lake, NS - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cayley on Friday, January 22, 2016. Born in Bath, New Brunswick she is the daughter of Carolyn (McLean) Fox (Dwight Lucas) of Porters Lake and David Fox (Lisa Jackson Fox) of Saint John, New Brunswick.
Cayley was a determined, vibrant, quick witted individual. She put others before herself and always wanted everyone around her to be happy. Toney River, Pictou County was her favourite place growing up where she gathered with friends and family. Cayley travelled the world through sport and for pleasure but was always drawn back to the local beaches. Cayley loved animals, in particular dogs, and her bunny, Gorsey. Cayley loved and excelled in many sports, notably competitive gymnastics, rope skipping, and hockey. She played in all major high school sports, ultimately being named Female Athlete of the Year at Eastern Shore District High school in her graduating year (2012). She went on to play Varsity Rugby for the Saint Mary’s University Huskies. Cayley was in her graduating year (BSc) studying her passion of biology. Cayley was taken away from us too early, she was brave and strong and had so much more to offer and accomplish. She touched so many lives and will be sadly missed.
Cayley is survived by her brother, Cameron, Edmonton; step-sisters, Tori, Hayley and Kelsey Lucas, all of Dartmouth; best friend since childhood, Tamara Boucher, Porters Lake; boyfriend, Brandon White, Porters Lake; aunts, Joan Smith (Wayne), Marjory Hume (Roger Kitchen), Marilyn Tompkins (Raymond), Pam McLean-Veysey (Sidney), Leslie Perry (Brett); uncles, Donald McLean, Jeffrey Fox (Gina); and extended family. Cayley is also survived by many cousins, teammates, classmates and close friends.
She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Donald and Annabelle (Proudfoot) Fox and maternal grandparents, Donald and Irene (Swinnard) McLean and aunt, Maria McLean.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday, January 28 with a memorial service 11am Friday, January 29 followed by a reception all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nova Scotia branches of the Canadian Mental Health Association or the S.P.C.A.
