Trenton - Norma Jessie Mason, age 91, of Trenton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital with her family by her side.
Born April 21, 1924 in Trenton, to the late Norman and Jessie (MacDermid) MacDonald, she was the last surviving member of her family.
Norma loved to do crossword puzzles, read and play TV bingo. She was an avid hockey fan, especially Ottawa and Pittsburgh.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by daughters: Lynn (Ralph) Johnston, Trenton; Shirley (Myles) Fisher, Little Harbour; daughter-in-law, Joan Mason, Coldbrook; grandchildren: Larry, Hughie, Robert, Aaron Mason; Angie Cail, Janice Laffin, Darrell Johnston, Michael Lumsden and Tim Fisher; great grandchildren: Hannah, Nicholas, Taylor, Brendan and Andrew; sister-in-law, Helen MacDonald, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dempsey “Demp”, son, Hughie, and also several siblings.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton.
A family service and burial will be held at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
