KNOWLES, Robert Joseph – 73, of Trenton passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on January 31, 2016.
Born in Pictou, he was son of the late Stephen ‘Stan’ & Gemma (Poirier) Knowles.
He was an electrician at the Pictou Shipyards and also enjoyed mowing lawns and painting for all his friends and family. Robert also enjoyed cribbage and watching hockey especially the Subway Selects.
He is survived his common law partner, Cathy Fraser, Trenton; daughters, Marie (Ralph) Ormrod, Pictou; Roberta Brophy (Hughie Langille), Stellarton; and Glady Knowles (Todd Greene), Pictou; grandchildren, Scott, April, Justin, Jared, Johnathon, Robert, Alisha, and Biancia; great grandchildren, Quintin, Madelyn, Paityn, Kolten, Lily, Teagan, Chloe and Emma. Robert is also survived by brothers, Stephen, Pictou; Raymond, New Glasgow; Joey, Calgary; and John, Saskatoon.
He was predeceased by a brother, David.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou.
A reception will follow in the church hall.
