The family of the late Laurence Byrne announce with sorrow his passing at the Palliative Care Unit on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 58 years Carolyn (Carberry); one daughter Denise Rumboldt; son Tony (Olivia) and his son Nathan; son Greg and his children Jennifer, Elizabeth and Scott; son Melvin and his sons Geoffrey, Jonathan and Bradley; brothers: Gervaise (Rosella), Claude (Mary) Moulton and Joe (Bride) Moulton; sisters: Regis Compagnon, Violet (Harold) Nason, Jean Skeard and Cathy (Ligouri) O'Connell; brother-in-law Robert Mosher; sisters-in-law: Alma Drasdowski, Mabel Carberry, Audrey Shellard and Shirley O'Neill; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father John Byrne, mother Janet (Park) Moulton, step-father Bill Moulton, son-in-law Wayne Rumboldt, mother and father-in-law Hannah and Lionel Carberry, brothers Melvin Byrne, Ed (Mamie) Byrne and Calvin (Joyce) Byrne, sister Mary (Robert) Spence, brothers-in-law Ted Compagnon, John Penney, Gordon Carberry, Austin Carberry, Raymond Shellard, Ralph Carberry, Adam Drasdowski and Ted O'Neill, sisters-in-law Mary (Eric) Anstey and Hilda Mosher. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
