Passed peacefully away at his residence in St. John's, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, with his loving wife by his side, Gordon Maxwell Carter aged 78 years. Predeceased by parents: Kenneth and Blanche (nee Baker) Carter; brothers: Charles (Sarah - deceased) and Kenneth (Joan); sisters: Josephine Arsenault (Ben - deceased) and Grace Boyd; infant sister: Patricia Ann; nephews: Robert Carter, Fredrick Arsenault and Paul Carter; niece: Janet Carter; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Weston and Alice Williams; brothers-in-law: Alex, Eugene and George Williams; sister-in-law: Marjorie Samson (Lloyd - deceased). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving and devoted wife: Olive; sons: Gordon (Paulette) and Matthew (Andrea); precious grandchildren: Blair Carter (Jeanette) and Amy Carter (Luke); brothers: Fredrick, St. John's, Alexander (Betty), Oakville, Ont., Herbert (Brenda), St. John's, Benjamin (Sandra), Miss, U.S.A.; sisters: Laura Connors, St. John's, Barbara Snow (Bob), Toronto, Ont.; sisters-in-law: Valda Williams (Weldon - deceased), Goulds; Gwen (Ron), Ont., as well as numerous nephews, nieces and special friends. Cremation has taken place. As per Gordon's request, there will be no visitation or public funeral service (a private family service and interment will be held at a later date).
